Supporting Growlife Medical through growth and expansion while preserving positive culture

The situation

Growlife Medical was entering a significant period of growth and operational expansion, including the establishment of a new Urgent Care Clinic. Alongside this growth, the organisation was navigating the challenges of scaling services, strengthening leadership capability, maintaining team culture and creating greater alignment around its long-term strategic direction.

What we did

Macaulay Consulting partnered with Growlife across multiple streams of work, including support during the establishment of the Urgent Care Clinic, facilitation of culture and communication building sessions and the design and facilitation of the organisation's strategic planning and implementation process. This work helped create alignment across the leadership team, strengthen communication and shared ownership and translate strategic priorities into practical implementation actions and structures.

The outcome

The partnership supported Growlife to build greater strategic clarity, leadership alignment and organisational focus during a period of rapid growth. It also strengthened the connection between culture, operations and long-term strategy, helping the organisation scale in a way that protected its patient-centred approach, team culture and commitment to high-quality care.

Caroline has become a valued partner to Growlife, helping facilitate our long-term strategy and navigate through change. Her thoughtful questions and vibrant manner mean that teams naturally open up to her, and provide their best input. Both major projects she has worked on have resulted in teams who are energised and motivated after finding and clarifying their own internal purpose.

A youth strategy shaped by young people

The situation

yourtown sought to develop a new national Youth Engagement Strategy that would strengthen how young people shape decision-making across the organisation. The goal was to move beyond traditional consultation approaches and create a genuinely participatory model that embedded youth voice, leadership and lived experience into governance, programs and organisational culture.

What we did

Caroline partnered with yourtown to co-design the strategy through a trauma-informed and highly participatory engagement process. Young people were engaged as active partners throughout the project, including representation on the project team itself. Caroline designed and facilitated workshops, project meetings and engagement activities that created psychologically safe and inclusive environments for participation, while helping stakeholders navigate complex conversations and translate insights into practical strategic direction.

The outcome

The project resulted in a nationally endorsed Youth Engagement Strategy that strengthened yourtown's approach to youth participation and shared decision-making. The work helped establish stronger structures and pathways for ongoing youth involvement across the organisation, and was externally recognised with a Youth Participation award at the 2024 Queensland Child Protection Week Awards. The outcomes of this work continue: new governance structures involving young people are now in place, including a National Youth Advisory Committee.

The youth strategy would not have been possible without your skilled facilitation and commitment to listening to, engaging with and empowering young people.
